Illinois Coaches Announcement List on Mail Chimp:

We are switching our Coaches Announcement List over to Mail Chimp. All other communication formats will remain the same including the Yahoo Group. If you have questions, please send them to us at fll-contact@firstillinoisrobotics.org! It's important to be subscribed to this list if you are planning to Coach FIRST LEGO League in Illinois this year. We will be sharing important season related information, deadlines, and any changes here. It is suggested all coaches of each team join the Coaches Announcement List on Mail Chimp.   Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you know who would like to also be part of our list. They can sign up to this list here. 

TeamUp App:  Does your team need an extra student? Do you know a student who wants to join a team? We have a new tool to help individuals find each other to form a team! It is called TeamUP and it is being launched for the first time this month.  If your robotics team would like to mentor another team this season, please consider adding your team to TeamUp.  You will be able to find teams in search of mentoring this season.

Yahoo! group ends on December 15, 2020:

The Yahoo! Group for FLL Illinois is your means of communicating with other Illinois FIRST LEGO League teams.

The Yahoo Groups website will end on December 15, 2020.  Members will no longer be able to send or receive emails from Yahoo Groups. Yahoo Mail features will continue to function as expected and there will be no changes to your Yahoo Mail account, emails, photos or other inbox content. There will also be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services. You can find more information about the Yahoo Groups shutdown and alternative service options on this help page.

FLL Consent Forms:  

Each team needs to complete signed Consent Release forms for each student, coach and volunteer attending (NO EXCEPTIONS – Participation is contingent on submitted consent before the opening ceremonies).

There are separate forms for FIRST national program, and the FIRST Illinois Robotics state program, and BOTH forms must be filled out for every participant.

Please ensure that all consent forms must be complete for any individuals appearing in videos you submit for scoring before the videos are uploaded to our system.

Do we still have to collect 2 consents for each participant, including coaches?
Yes, in fact team participation requires the most current consents be signed this season. Due to the all-remote season, consents must be submitted electronically through your dashboards
(National: www.firstinspires.org and Regional www.firstillinoisrobotics.org ) or to the online paper consent folder if initially collected on paper by coaches.

Coaches are required to ensure the completion of these forms for all team members (including adult team members) online prior to arriving at the tournament and should submit the consent report during their on-site registration.  Paper consent forms can be turned in during registration for any participant not included in the online consent report, if necessary. DO NOT PRINT ONLINE CONSENT FORMS> this creates huge amounts of work and it is unnecessary. Showing the screen capture of signed consents list or the Coach verbally confirming all consents were completed online will be adequate. Ultimately the Coaches are responsible for ensuring all consents are completed before student participation in the Qualifier. Teams not in compliance can be reprimanded up to and including loss of participation in the event, awards or advancements.

Screened Coaches Must Be Added to the Illinois Registration System:

Each team must have 2 FIRST screened coaches.

* Once their FIRST screening is complete, please be sure to add your screened coaches to your Illinois team registration at https://registration.firstillinoisrobotics.org/Login.aspx > Coach Info tab > blue hyperlinked ADD button on the far right of the grey table banner

* The new coach must then ‘sign up’ on the Illinois registration system site to receive a system-generated email that will provide him/her with the opportunity to create a password.

* Once the password is created, the new coach will be affiliated with the team and able to see the team information online.
