Illinois Team Grants

2020/21 RePLAY Illinois FIRST LEGO League Challenge
Financial Hardship Grant Application

Apply HERE!

Every season we have various grants available to support teams in Illinois.

Here are the current grants we have available. Please apply now if your teams needs financial support this season:

In cooperation with one of our sponsors, ARCO Murray / Bike Ride for the Kids, FIRST Illinois Robotics is accepting hardship grant applications for teams for the 2020/21 RePLAY season.  Teams pay the first $50 and two types of grants are available to pay for the additional basic costs of a team.

New Teams can apply for a grant to cover the cost of National FIRST LEGO League Challenge registration, an EV3 or Spike Prime Robot kit, RePLAY challenge kit, 4’x8’ competition table and Illinois team registration.  This is approximately a grant of $925 ($975 estimated total cost less $50 the team pays).

Returning Teams can apply for a grant to cover the cost of National FIRST LEGO League registration, RePLAY challenge kit and Illinois team registration. This is approximately a grant of $450 ($500 estimated total cost less $50 the team pays).

FIRST Illinois Robotics will manage the application and evaluation process.   ARCO Murray and one of their sponsored non-for-profit activities “Bike Ride for the Kids” are providing funding for this hardship grant. During or after the season, teams who receive a grant will need to provide their team name, a team photo and a progress report on how the team did at any competitions they attended to FIRST Illinois Robotics. This information will be provided to our program sponsor.

Grant applications will be accepted through September 30, 2020, however initial grant decisions will begin August 15, 2020 and funds are limited.  Send completed application to fll-contact@firstillinoisrobotics.org  or via mail to FIRST Illinois Robotics, PO Box 82, Prospect Heights, IL 60070 or  just complete this google form!

An individual coach or group may apply for multiple teams, however based on the number of grant requests we receive, groups may only receive a grant for one of the teams.  If you are awarded the grant and have already paid for any items included in the grant you will be reimbursed by check after we receive copies of your receipts.   If you have not yet registered or purchased items covered in the grant FIRST Illinois Robotics can reimburse you or pay directly on your behalf.   Decisions to award grants will begin after August 15, 2020 and go through September 30, 2020 or until all grants are awarded.
