FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC®) builds on community resources to promote exciting, project-based learning.
FTC is a widely-accessible robotics program/competition designed to inspire students to explore and pursue science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in grades 7 through 12. With middle- and high-school students and 2 to 3 Mentors per team, FTC ensures that each student can actively participate and benefit from the FIRST experience.
The FTC program helps young people discover the excitement and rewards of science, technology, engineering, and math, while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life-skills which are the cornerstones of FIRST. Every September brings a new season’s game challenge to be solved. Students brainstorm to devise and design innovative, effective solutions while volunteer professional mentors often find they rediscover the joys of their chosen profession.
